On Saturday the 7th July 2012, Garra Head Quarters hosted the mid-year grading ceremony and barbecue. join Grading ceremonies are held twice a year and is a celebration of achievement, knowledge and an excellent time for families and friends to witness students upgrade in belts and stripes.
Eduardo Dias and his fellow instructors lead the day, presenting 58 students of Garra Lawnton, Springfield, Logan Central and Kelvin Grove the opportunity to roll with each other. Eduardo comments “Garra has become larger, it is important for individuals to become familiar with individuals from each of the other Garras, otherwise we could never become the team we are.”
Many Belts and stripes from all ages were given, which shows how many students have worked diligently on their game and technical ability enabling them to commit and reach their goals. Eduardo said: “The Garra Familia is growing and becoming a stronger team with a high level of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu; at the end of the year we will have a even bigger grading because there are many people really close to their new belts. Keep up the nice work guys, every year we strive to greater heights, and every year we become more successful! It is wonderful to see the Garra team supporting each other. I am truly proud of my Garra Familia!” and no one could agree more!
Thank you for the volunteers of the day, the day could not have gone on without you! And of course the students of Garra for your loyalty, commitment, diligence and drive for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Without you, we would not be a team; we would not be a Family.
