Garra Black Belts Anton Minenko and Tie Passos travelled to Melbourne to compete in the IBJJF National Championships.
Anton’s first competition on Australian soil as a Black Belt saw him pitted some of the best competitors Australia has to offer.
On his way to winning 4 golds and becoming the 2018 National Champion (Gi and NoGi). Anton finished 5 of his 6 matches via submission putting on a clinic against seasoned competitors.
Garra would also like to acknowledge the efforts of Tie in his first competition as a Black Belt. Also facing some of the best competitors, there were no easy fights. While things did not quiet go to plan Tie fought well and came away with 2 silvers in his weight (82kg) and open division.
