OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU
Garra is a traditional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy. We offer all Garra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy Members genuine instruction and guidance. Garra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy offers only the highest quality training and expertise from our fully qualified Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instructors.
MEMBERSHIP ENTITLEMENT
Upon acceptance and payment of the required Membership Fees and payments, I acknowledge that I will be a Member of the Garra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy and therefore will be bound by the terms and conditions of membership, as set out by the Membership Terms and Conditions Agreement (Agreement). I understand that I am entitled to utilize the premises and its facilities within the allotted class times for the term of my membership.
TRAINING & PAYMENT OPTIONS
If you choose to make training payments via Direct Debit, please complete the required Direct Debit Authorization Form. It is your responsibility to ensure that the nominated account has sufficient funds on the scheduled payment dates. These agreements are binding and can only be canceled in accordance with the terms outlined in this agreement. Memberships are non-transferable and cannot be assigned to another person.
Failure to ensure sufficient funds may result in a failed payment fee of $21.90, which will be charged by our third-party direct debit system.
MEMBERSHIP IS ANNUAL
Even though we allow members to pay periodically (e.g. fortnightly or every six months), you are signing up for annual membership, which can be canceled according to the rules below. Periodic payment is made available for your convenience to help with budgeting and to spread the payments across the year. You will therefore be charged the membership fee regardless of whether there is a public holiday or not, and this includes the Christmas/New Year period during which Garra closes down.
Holding or Cancelling Membership
Members can place their membership on hold for a minimum of 28 days. Requests for holding or cancellation must be made with the following minimum notice periods:
14 days’ notice required to place a membership on hold.
28 days’ notice required to cancel a membership.
All requests must be submitted through the website using the following link:
http://garrabjj.com.au/cancelling-or-hold
A $20 administration fee applies for each hold request. If an extension is needed, an additional $20 fee will be charged per extension. If a member cancels their membership and later decides to rejoin, the initial Registration Fee will need to be paid again.
HEALTH PROFILE AND GUIDANCE
I confirm that I have completed the Health Questionnaire Form and to the best of my knowledge have answered all questions about my health honestly. I will disclose any changes in my health status throughout the duration of my membership with Garra Group Pty. Ltd. I understand that I may (if management requires) be required to attend a health assessment with a trainer at the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy prior to any exercise. It is my right to decline the assessment, however, I do so at my own risk. Accordingly, I understand that Management may at its sole discretion reject my membership application until I receive medical clearance from my general practitioner.
ACCESS/PUNCTUALITY
Garra advises that members be punctual in order to benefit the most out of class time. Management reserves the right to restrict access to any part of the premises whether for repair, maintenance, or restricted use. I understand that the management of Garra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy controls standards, policies, and the operation of the center. I further understand that Management will engage contractors to provide certain services. I acknowledge that any claim, which may arise as a result of an act or failure to act by such contractors, will be the responsibility of the contractor/s, and such claim will be brought against the contractor/s.

We reserve the right to change the terms of this agreement by giving a minimum of one month’s notice to you. This can include but is not limited to changes to membership pricing, cancellation policies, and hold policies. If you are unhappy with the changed terms, your only remedy is to terminate the agreement before the new terms are effective; otherwise, it is deemed that you have accepted the changes. We will send notices via email, SMS, and the notice board at Garra HQ.
It is your responsibility to ensure that your contact details are accurate and up to date so that you can receive the latest updates.
